As the lead designer for Payy Network, I turned complex zero-knowledge privacy into a clean, high-contrast neobanking UI. Across mobile and web, I built borderless monochrome interfaces for treasury, payroll, and everyday card spending. I paired a stark black-and-white canvas with vibrant neon accents for sharp visual clarity. Classic banknote-style illustrations added a layer of familiar, tangible trust to the digital experience.
I was passionate to design a digital ecosystem that acts as a disciplined problem solver, translating complex, zero-knowledge privacy infrastructure into an elegant, high-contrast user experience. In this role, I was responsible for stripping away technical clutter—like public ledger exposure and gas fees—to deliver an intuitive neobanking interface that feels both familiar and highly secure.
Why Dark Mode & Electric Neon
I chose a black-dominant UI to signal security, seriousness, and premium fintech trust. Deep black backgrounds reduced visual noise around sensitive financial data. Against that void, a single electric lime/yellow accent felt intentional, not decorative. It gave the brand energy without breaking its disciplined restraint.
Neon as a Functional Signal
The neon lime/yellow wasn't just style — it was UX. I reserved it strictly for key actions: confirmations, balances, active states. This made the accent color instantly recognizable as "this matters, look here." Scarcity gave the color power.
The Trust Deficit in Mobile Crypto
Crypto wallets often overwhelm users with technical noise — gas fees, addresses, raw ledger data — making mobile crypto payments feel unsafe and unfamiliar. For Payy's mobile app, I had to solve this without hiding the power of zero-knowledge privacy underneath. Users needed speed and confidence, not a crash course in blockchain. The interface had to feel as simple as any everyday banking app.
Designing Calm Into Chaos
I designed a dark, monochrome mobile UI with a single electric neon accent to guide every key action — send, confirm, spend. This custom design system reduced cognitive load while reinforcing security through visual restraint. Micro-interactions like haptic taps and balance reveals made transactions feel tactile and trustworthy. The result was a mobile experience that made private, borderless payments feel effortless.
